Redundancy Climate Systems for IT, Server & Process Cooling
Reliable cooling for critical technical rooms – from small to large. Year-round cooling of servers, networks, backup systems, or electrical switchgear requires operational reliability, redundancy, and sensible cooling capacity. System downtime can lead to stoppages of entire business processes.
Which Redundancy Sets Fit Your Technical or Server Room?
In technical rooms, only sensible cooling capacity is relevant. Comfort air conditioners lose a large portion of their output to dehumidification – a disadvantage in IT environments.
PIV systems provide up to 90% sensible cooling capacity, perfectly aligned to the real heat load of IT infrastructure. RPIV redundancy climate systems are designed for continuous operation in IT and technical rooms and ensure maximum operational reliability – even in extreme outdoor temperatures down to -15 °C.

Modern Data Center Cooling
The illustrated system represents a modern data center cooling solution based on a hot and cold aisle architecture. Precision indoor cooling units deliver targeted cold air to the cold aisle (blue), while warm exhaust air is collected in the hot aisle (red). The indoor units are connected via refrigerant lines to compressor units installed on the building façade. This separation concept maximizes energy efficiency, reduces power consumption, and ensures stable operating temperatures for critical IT infrastructure. The generated waste heat can optionally be reused for heating adjacent storage or industrial areas.
Coolenvi™ – Efficient & Future-Proof Climate Systems for IT, Server & Technical Rooms
Coolenvi™ delivers reliable, energy-efficient redundancy climate systems for commercial applications with the highest operational reliability requirements. Our systems are specially designed for IT, server, and technical rooms as well as process cooling – anywhere stable IT cooling is essential and critical infrastructure downtime must be avoided.
A focus is on modular redundancy climate systems for server rooms and IT infrastructure. These units are built for continuous operation, even during maintenance, peak, or partial load, ensuring uniform cooling and reliable protection of sensitive IT components.
The systems cover a wide performance range – from compact solutions for small technical rooms and medium network cabinets to powerful redundancy systems for large server rooms and data centers. Depending on requirements, ceiling solutions, duct units for targeted airflow, or floor units for raised floor systems are used to ensure optimal cold/hot aisle separation.
Additionally, Coolenvi™ provides matching installation materials and installation & commissioning packages. This ensures a fully coordinated redundancy climate system from selection to installation and safe commissioning.
Our solutions are suitable for new builds, modernization, or expansion of existing IT and server rooms, deployed nationwide in offices, data centers, medical facilities, process rooms, and technical rooms. Benefit from energy-efficient cooling, high operational reliability, and seamless integration.

Raised Floor Cooling in Data Centers
In large data centers, raised floors are the cleanest and most efficient solution for routing network and power cabling. At the same time, raised floor systems with perforated tiles or open-bottom rack cabinets enable precise and targeted airflow directly to the server racks.
This controlled airflow and high sensible cooling capacity significantly reduce energy consumption, as cooling is applied only where heat is generated—inside the IT racks—rather than throughout the entire room.
Key benefits:
no water-carrying components above the server racks, and the use of state-of-the-art inverter technology instead of chilled-water systems and circulation pumps.
Thermodynamic Airflow Principles in Server Rooms
In smaller server rooms and technical rooms, raised floor systems are often not used. Cabling is typically routed via cable trays or support systems installed at ceiling level. The airflow primarily follows basic thermodynamic principles: warm exhaust air rises, while cooler supply air flows in near the floor and is drawn in by the server fans.
This principle applies regardless of the infrastructure used and forms the physical basis for all cooling concepts – with or without a raised floor.
Infobox – Sensible Cooling Capacity
The nominal cooling capacity specified by manufacturers consists of:
latent + sensible cooling capacity = nominal cooling capacity.
Sensible cooling capacity lowers the temperature.
Latent cooling capacity dehumidifies the air.
Comfort air conditioners use up to 50% of the nominal capacity for latent cooling, i.e., dehumidification.
In technical rooms, continuous operation strongly dehumidifies the air.
For designing such systems, only sensible cooling capacity is relevant.
Device selection for technical and IT rooms must be based on sensible cooling capacity.
